Help LACF Support the Profession during this Unprecedented Time
Dear Colleague,
2020 is a year like no other. While these are uncertain and challenging times, the profession of landscape architecture stands to become more relevant than ever as our values and skills become even more essential in adapting to this changing world.
On behalf of the Landscape Architecture Canada Foundation (LACF) and all past and prospective recipients of LACF scholarships, grants, and bursaries, I am writing to encourage your support of LACF programs in research, communication and scholarship.
Your donation enables LACF to provide core activities and programs such as the LACF annual Grants and Bursary Program, Special Project Grants and our 17 Scholarships for students enrolled in accredited landscape architecture programs in Canada. Your support contributes to the advancement of the values that landscape architects and our corporate, professional and individual partners believe will improve the quality of our natural and built environment. Our university programs depend on it, their students depend on it, researchers depend on it and the landscape industry in Canada benefits from it.
As a result of the cancellation of the 2020 Congress in Calgary due to the Covid-19 pandemic, LACF is facing a significant budgetary shortfall. Our yearly financial commitment to current scholarship, grant, and research programs is $97,000.00. Last year landscape architects and landscape architectural firms contributed over $50,000.00 at the CSLA Congress Gala reverse auction. Losing this significant fundraising opportunity puts many of our programs in jeopardy.
If you were planning on attending the Congress, you might consider donating some of the savings from travel, registration, and accommodation towards maintaining our programs for the upcoming year. We are reaching out to you for your support. Please give and give as generously as you are able.
Your support will make an enormous difference, ensuring that our scholarship programs research grants and communication initiatives continue, and that new grants and scholarships can be funded.
Please visit our website at www.lacf.ca. for details about our ongoing programs and for the convenient Donation Form. Just follow the Donate Today button.
On behalf of LACF and those who we support, Thank You.
