Help us amplify the impact of LACF scholarships!
LACF's mission is to invest in research, communication and scholarship that advances our collective capacity to shape resilient, equitable and meaningful landscapes for all.
Scholarships to students are one of our most important programs with $98,000 disbursed to students across Canada in 2024. LACF gives out three national scholarships and eight LACF funded regional scholarships. Unfortunately, the majority of the regional scholarships are currently $1000 - $2000. This is not enough to make the cost of education more affordable for our students!
This year we are focusing on increasing the value of our core LACF funded regional scholarships to $5000 while concurrently increasing each endowment over time to provide this support in perpetuity. Our goal is to raise $100,000 by June 7, the date of the CSLA Gala at congress.

LACF-Funded Research Project: Trees and their Kin
Heather Schibli
Life’s diversity is an ongoing creative process. Plants, animals, microbes, and fungi morph, merge, and diverge over time and through space. Complex relational webs emerge from reciprocal and competitive encounters between genes, organisms, species, and communities that shape those engaged. This booklet, a precursor to a larger volume, is an exploration into some of the many relationships trees hold with other species, including humans. When we plant a tree, we plant a suit of relationships. As landscape architects, we can design gardens and outdoor spaces that honour and support the landscape’s co-evolutionary relationships.
