LACF Scholarships in British Columbia
There are currently 3 LACF Scholarships available to students of landscape architecture attending UBC. The University of British Columbia offers an accredited landscape architecture program in the School of Architecture + Landscape Architecture (SALA). The scholarships are:
1. UBC Scholarship in Landscape Architecture

1. LACF / UBC Scholarship in Landscape Architecture
Context and Description
Members and friends of the British Columbia Society of Landscape Architects (BCSLA) established this endowment fund in 2015 under the auspices of LACF.
A scholarship of $2,500 is awarded annually to a student in the second or third year of the University of British Columbia Master of Landscape Architecture program who has demonstrated design creativity and commitment to sustainability, ecosystem biodiversity, sustainable food systems, resource management and/or community building.
Criteria and Award Process
School faculty nominate a candidate who exemplifies the objectives of this scholarship. The nomination is reviewed and approved by LACF.

2. BCSLA Robillard / LACF Scholarship in Landscape Architecture
Context and Description
The Robillard Scholarship was originally established by the British Columbia Society of Landscape Architects in 1982 to honor the memory of BC Landscape Architect, Raoul Robillard. In January 2018, this endowment fund was transferred to LACF. LACF is honoured to administer this scholarship into the future in collaboration with BCSLA.
The BCSLA ROBILLARD|LACF Scholarship of $1,500 and student membership in the BCSLA is awarded annually to a deserving candidate in the second year in the University of British Columbia Master of Landscape Architecture program who has demonstrated excellence in small-scale landscape design.
Criteria and Award Process
School faculty nominate a candidate who exemplifies the objectives of this scholarship. The nomination is reviewed and approved by the LACF Board.
Who was Raoul Robillard?
Raoul Robillard had a distinguished career as an early landscape architect in BC. He was a member of the BCSLA and a Fellow of the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects.

3. Maglin-LACF Scholarship
A scholarship of $5,000 will be awarded to one outstanding student studying landscape architecture each year to a student at University of British Columbia, MLA
Applicants should be:
a) Currently enrolled in the program listed above;
b) A Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
c) Nominated by the faculty; and
d) Demonstrate excellence in their studies.
Note that a student may receive this scholarship in addition to other LACF Scholarships – there are no restrictions on the attribution of the Maglin-LACF Scholarship.
