LACF / UBC SCHOLARSHIP 2017

The 2017 LACF / UBC Scholarship in Landscape Architecture goes to Ms. Taylor Boisjoli. This $1,000 scholarship is offered annually to a student in the second or third year of the Master of Landscape Architecture program who has demonstrated design creativity and commitment to sustainability, ecosystem biodiversity, sustainable food systems, resource management and/or community building. Congratulations Taylor! 
 
 

ANNOUNCING A NEW STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP FOR DALHOUSIE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

APALA and partner organizations are pleased to announce the inaugural competition for the Atlantic Landscape LACF Dalhousie Scholarship. An award of $1000 will be presented to a student of the Dalhousie Bachelor of Technology in Landscape Architecture program intending to take-up work in landscape architecture technology in the Atlantic region. CALL FOR PROPOSALS FOR THE ANNUAL GRANTS PROGRAM 2018 

LACF grant proposal criteria and timeline for 2018 is now online. This year a total of $26,500 in grants will be awarded. Up to $10,000 is available for professional grant proposals and up to $2,000 is available for student grant proposals. LACF grant proposal deadline is set for November 17, 2017.

CSLA CONGRESS AND WORLD DESIGN SUMMIT, OCTOBER 16-20, MONTREAL

LACF plans to be present at Congress of the World Design Summit in Montreal.  We hope to see you there.  This unprecedented international gathering of design disciplines promises to look at how Design can provoke change. The Foundation is excited to welcome  Arnis Budrevics, OALA, FCSLA and Bob Somers, MALA, OALA  on the LACF Board of Directors.  Both men bring a wealth of knowledge and experience with them that will contribute to helping LACF build a stronger organization with even greater outreach.

 

 

CANADIAN LANDSCAPE PORTFOLIO _ DESIGNED LANDSCAPES

The second edition of the Canadian Landscape Portfolio is now online and features photographs taken by landscape architects that showcase Designed Landscapes across Canada.   Visit thiss collection on the CLP-PPC website.  You may also want to entertain the idea of participating in the next edition of Dream Landscapes. LACF and CSLA are proud partners in supporting this project which is part of the Canadian Landscape Charter Initiative.

EXTRACTION RECEIVES CSLA AWARD OF EXCELLENCE 2017

EX concept

The Awards Jury described the EXTRACTION project, part of the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale, as an “extremely powerful conceptual installation”.  Members of the jury were unanimous in selecting this project for an award in the Communications category.  LACF proudly supported this initiative as a special project in 2016. Congratulations to Curator Pierre Belanger and OPSYS. Read all about it in the Landscapes Paysages Award issue extract .
