1 / Announcing LACF's Annual 2020 Grant Award winners
“LACF is proud to announce the eight grant recipients for 2020. Each project exemplifies the Canadian Landscape Charter. The proposals exemplify the expanding role landscape architects play in providing social, cultural, ecological, economic and health benefits to society”, said LACF President, Vincent Asselin, FCSLA. “The recipients are required to share the results of their work, thus multiplying the grants’ impact”. The grants for 2020 cover a range of topics and tackle issues important to all landscape architecture. Go to our 2020 Grants Portfolio for a full description of the 2020 awards. Annual grant proposals are adjudicated and awarded by a National Jury composed of six individuals from public, private and academic practices areas, representing the Atlantic, Quebec, Ontario, Prairie, British Columbia regions and Canada’s north. The Board of the Landscape Architecture Canada Foundation extends its congratulations to the many individuals and component associations, who through their annual donations, make these grants possible.

2 / Did you hear about Morgan's Garden?
Virginia Burt Designs won an Ohio Chapter ASLA Honors award in Communication and Research for the project Morgan’s Garden. Virginia Burt and student Emily Thorpe did an extensive literature review on therapeutic gardens and designing for autism spectrum disorder to develop a garden masterplan at the Monarch Center for Adults with Autism day program! Emily’s work was supported in part by a 2019 student grant from LACF. Congratulations! LACF is proud to learn when our seed-funded projects are recognized.
