LACF Awards $47,500 in Grants in 2021
Landscape Architecture Canada Foundation (LACF) is pleased to announce the recipients of funding in the 2021 Research Grants Program in support of research, communication and scholarship. This year, 7 professional awards were approved by the jury.
The grants awarded for 2021 cover a broad range of topics and tackle issues important to the profession. According to Vincent Asselin, LACF President:
"Each research project funded by the grants program demonstrates the impact of the profession in making important contributions to the society at large. The research proposals range from investigating the future of clean energy and exploring ways to increase the speed of urban canopy growth to creating tools which will further integrate the principles of social justice, sustainability, and placemaking in the profession, demonstrating that landscape architecture can indeed contribute to transforming our common future."
The proposals were adjudicated and awarded by a National Jury composed of six individuals from public, private and academic practices areas, representing the different regions of Canada.
